Port Hardy, B.C.- RCMP have confirmed the deaths of five of the seven males on board the Grumman Goose plane that went down yesterday on Vancouver Island.
RCMP say the two survivors, one with injuries, have been taken to Comox.
The crash site was on a mountain on the Island.
The site was located five hours after the search began. One of the survivors was in contact with a third part by cell phone and said he could see the search planes, but the search planes could not spot the wreckage.
Names of the deceased have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
