Chopper Pilot Dies

Terrace, B.C.-  The pilot who suffered serious injuries when the  helicopter  he was piloting crashed earlier this week, has succumbed to those injuries.

Terrace RCMP confirm  Mike Haworth, a partner in  the Quantum Helicopter Company, was the pilot of the  Bell Longranger that crashed  45 kilometers northeast of Terrace  Wednesday morning.

He had been transported to Vancouver for treatment but died yesterday afternoon.

The coroner's service and federal transportation safety board are continuing their investigations. There  have been four  air crashes in the province  this month, two of the crashes happened in the past week in the  Terrace region.

I worked with Mike when we were both employed by Northern Mountian Helicopters and again last summer we worked on the same project at Galore Creek. He was truly a great guy and will be missed in the life and the helicopter business.
Sad. I knew Mike as well, always helpful.
