Prince George, B.C. – For those looking to fill up at Petro Canada you may need to travel to a different location or choose another gas station.

Kyle Robertson an attendant at the Hart Highway station that only has premium gas to sell, says they are expecting a delivery on Monday, “We are only getting half of a delivery on Monday, at this point unless people are buying diesel, they are walking in to find out the price of premium is 144.9 and walking out as they can just go across the street.”

Stations at 11480 Carmel and 20th Ave still have regular gas, however 5th Ave only has diesel.

For those going out of town the stations in Valemount, Mackenzie, and Quesnel still have gas and Jasper is down to one. There are not any Petro Canada stations in McBride.

The shortage of gas is the result of an equipment breakdown at the refinery in Calgary.  Petro Canada indicated the repairs would likely take a couple of weeks rather than a couple of days.

As Opinion 250 reported on Tuesday, the refinery problem is expected to cause a gas shortage to Petro Canada gas stations throughout the Interior of B.C. and some in Alberta.

This really fits in with their plan. Why bother fixing up old refineries and building new ones when you can run old ones into the ground? Any shut downs or repairs like this only contribute to the rising prices and profit. It's no coincidence that no one is building new refineries.
This spring/summer when crude went to just under $150/barrel our gas prices shot up to $1.36 per litre. Crude is now selling at $113/barrel. How come this isn't reflected in the cost of gas?
Don't waste your money on premium fuel unless you vehicle requires it.
There is no benefit in running premium instead of regular.
It has been many years since the price of crude reflected what we pay at the pump. There is no correlation any more.
Petro "Canada" has always lead the increases of gas prices. I do not buy gas from Petro "canada". That's my little boycott.
They need to drive the price of fuel up. I agree with faithful!
