Body Of Missing Swimmer Found

Fort. St John, B.C. - The body of missingswimmer, 22 year old Clayton Russ, has been found.

Just after 9:00 this morning (Alberta time) construction workers on the Dunvegan Bridge, in Fairview Alberta, spotted what appeared to be a human body in the river. A helicopter pilot, who was assisting with the work on the bridge, was able to keep in visual contact with the body and provide an exact location to the Fairview RCMP . Members immediately traveled to the scene by boat, which was approximately three kilometres to the east of the Dunvegan bridge. The body was located and has since been recovered from the Peace River.

The body has been positively identified as Clayton RUSS. Clayton's family has been notified and are requesting their privacy during this very difficult time.

Fort St. John RCMP wish to once again thank the community members and businesses who have assisted in this search effort. North Peace Search and Rescue has been notified and will be concluding their involvement in the investigation.

Fairview, Alberta is located approximately 178 kilometres to the east of Fort St. John, BC.

Clayton went missing Friday while swimming  in the Pine River.
