Prince George, B.C. -   It is back to school and time again for school zone reminders.

 

Drivers are reminded to take extra caution throughout school zones, watching for children, school buses and crossing guards.

 

RCMP are advising extra caution especially during the first week, as students are excited and may have forgotten the rules of the road.

 

When school is in session a 30km/hr school zone speed limit is in effect between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

 

Community Policing and volunteers will be set up in various school zones with speed boards advising motorists of their speed.

 

Uniformed members will also be monitoring speeds and handing out tickets. Tickets for speeding in a school zone range from $196.00 to $235.00.
