Drug Raid nets more than the Usual Fare

Prince George R.C.M.P. are just releasing details about an overnight raid on a city home that turned up several home-made explosive devices, along with firearms and drugs.

Corporal Wayne Hubbell says members of the R.C.M.P.'s Task Force were carrying out a search warrant on a home in the 500-block of 3rd Avenue, when they discovered the explosives.

Hubbell says officers with the Explosive Disposal Unit had to be called in to remove and destroy the devices.

He says in addition, five rifles, a .357 handgun and a quantity of drugs and cocaine were seized.  

Two males in the residence have been arrested and are facing numerous charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a restricted firearm, and unlawful possession of an explosive.

Boy I sure hope those weapons were registered.
Possession of a restricted firearm is perfectly legal as long as you have the correct licencing and follow the correct storage & transportation laws.

A person can only be charged with "unlawful possession or storage/transportation of a restricted firearm". You folks make it sound like it's illegal to own a handgun when it is not.

You also mentioned that several firearms were confiscated but that does not mean he was breaking any firearms laws. Please be more specific when reporting things like this.
