Seniors Games Closing In

Prince George, B.C. - The 2008 BC Seniors Games in Prince George, are less than two weeks away andweeks, and the host committee is promising lots of action for the community and participants to enjoy both on and off the sport venues. 2008 Host Committee Chair Les Waldie says in addition to the action at the sport venues, the host committee has planned for four days full of tradeshows, seminars, first rate entertainment and even a Cougars Game. “Hosting an event like the Seniors Games gives you a chance to showcase your community, and with the special events we have planned, we know participants and the residents of Prince George will remember these Games, not only for thecompetition but the entire experience,” says Waldie. Some of the special events planned during the Seniors Games include:
- Free tradeshow in the Games Village (located in the atrium between CN Centre & the Kin Centres)on September 12
All events are open to the public.
“The 2008 BC Seniors Games has something for everyone. We look forward to involving the entire community with this special event, whether it’s through volunteering, competing, cheering on the competitors or joining us at our many specialevents. The community will play a huge role in the success of these Games,” says Waldie.
The 2008 Games welcomes competitors in 27 different sports. The Games are expected to attract over 2500 active senior competitors, from 12 zones across the province, as well as more than 200 registered non-participants to Prince George. The Games run September 10-13.
