Prince George, B.C.- Gregg Kauk(COW-K)has formally announced his intention to run for a seat as Councillor in the Municipal election this Novemebr. He is the third "newcomer" to step forward as Trent Derrick, ( a failed Mayoralty candidate form the 2005 vote) and MaryAnne Arcand the Director of TruckSafe have both thrown their hats into the ring ahead of the nomination filing period. Kauk hadn't planned on making the announcement so soon but "With a Federal election on the horizon, I think its important to get our message out now" Kauk had taken a shot at Council in the last ballot and picked up 3831 votes. A 14 year resident and businessman in Prince George, he says he wants to serve on city council so he can give back to the community that has given so much to him. Kauk has served with the Prince George Rotary Board, the P.G. Mardi Gras Society, the PG Heritage Commission, Northern BC Today's Woman Awards, the P.G. Chamber of Commerce, Progress Prince George, and the P.G.Library Board. He says that as a businessman he is experienced in making decisions and being accountable "The decisions I make daily have to be concise, balanced, and responsible and they have to be made quickly. Quite often, there is no second chance. I will bring this style to the table in council chambers."
