Prince George, B.C.- Gregg Kauk(COW-K)has formally announced his intention to run for a seat as Councillor in the Municipal election  this Novemebr.

He is the third "newcomer" to step forward as  Trent Derrick, ( a failed Mayoralty candidate form the 2005 vote)  and MaryAnne Arcand the  Director of  TruckSafe have both  thrown their hats into the ring ahead of the nomination filing period.

Kauk hadn't  planned on  making the announcement so soon but "With a Federal election on the horizon, I think its important to get our message out now"

Kauk had taken a shot at  Council in the last  ballot and picked up 3831 votes.

A 14 year resident and businessman in Prince  George, he says he wants to serve on city council so he can give back to the community that has given so much to him.

Kauk  has served with the Prince George Rotary Board, the P.G. Mardi Gras Society, the PG Heritage Commission,  Northern BC Today's Woman Awards, the P.G. Chamber of Commerce, Progress Prince George, and the P.G.Library Board.

He says that as a businessman he is experienced in making  decisions and being accountable "The decisions I make daily have to be concise, balanced, and responsible and they have to be made quickly.  Quite often, there is no second chance.  I will bring this style to the table in council chambers."

Heritage Commission after fourteen years -
mmmmmmmmmmmmm?
The more choices and options to consider, the better. The fact that Mr. Kauk has served on a good number of boards indicates to me that he has a servant's heart and has experience making decisions that involve others. Chester
Yup, he'll ceratianly be making the "bleeding hearts" awards nomination. As councillor he can keep those donations of taxpayers money flowing to his favourite boards.
They said it before. Ya gotta network.
Guess he is behind the Cow K sign at the top of Ospika?
Sounds like someone that will keep pushing for "downtown revitalization"...... flogging the proverbial dead Cow (K)
Despite the silly sign, I checked his web site out and looks like a decent candidate
Oh, don't have a cow, kay?
metalman.
