By 250 News
Prince George, B.C.- Vanderhoof RCMP Traffic Services are now releasing more details on the two-vehicle fatal collision which occurred on Highway #16, at Stella Road, west of Fraser Lake, earlier today.
The investigation has now revealed that a passenger car was entering Highway #16 from Stella Road, when it was T-boned by a westbound pick-up truck.
The driver of the passenger car sustained fatal injuries in the collision, while the two occupants of the pick-up truck survived without injury.
At this point, the police investigators state that alcohol is not a factor in this collision. It would appear the use of seat belts may have prevented the occupants of the pick-up truck from sustaining any injuries in this crash. The name of the deceased is being withheld, pending the notification of the next of kin.
The police investigators will continue to work with the BC Coroner's Service to establish the causal factors in this collision.
Traffic on Highway #16 remains restricted to alternating traffic with periodic closures for evidence documentation.
The police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any information which might be of assistance, to contact the Traffic Services Unit in Vanderhoof at Tel# (250) 567-2222 or the Fraser Lake RCMP Detachment at Tel# (250) 699-7777.
