Cougars Trade Thiessen

Prince George, BC – The Prince George Cougars have dealt 19 year old defencemen Garrett Thiessen to the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for a 2009 6th Round bantam draft selection.
 
The 6’0”, 201 pound native of Prince George was acquired by the Cougars back on November 29th 2006 from the Kamloops Blazers. Thiessen was originally selected in the 6th round of the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft by the Blazers.
 
Thiessen appeared in a career high 69 games with Prince George last season, garnering four assists and 178 penalty minutes. In 126 career WHL games, Thiessen has 1 goal and 8 assists to go along with 255 penalty minutes.

And yet an other reason to NOT attend a cougar hockey game.
Why would you trade a home boy-Now there is no reason for the home crowd to go to a home game.
Management is driving this team into the ground so they can pack up and leave and say it was not there fault.
Management could not of done anything clearer or stupider.
I think Nick Drazenovic proved that it takes more than a hometown kid to bring people out to the games. Do what's best for the team... time will tell if they made the right move or not.
