Prince George, B.C.- The Liberal candidate for Cariboo-Prince George has been selected, he is UNBC student Drew Adamick.
Now in his third year of studies at UNBC, Drew was elected as an undergraduate student representative on the UNBC Senate in April 2008.

Drew ‘s bio says he is passionate about environmental, economic and transportation issues, including public transportation, particularly as it relates to smaller communities. He has been active both on campus and in the community, as a member of the student committee that successfully established UNBC’s U-Pass bus pass.

Drew believes he can bring a fresh perspective and an active voice to Parliament on behalf of the riding of Cariboo-Prince George.

Adamick will join New Democrat  candidate Bev Collins in the race against incumbent  Conservative Dick Harris.

In the Prince George Peace River riding,  incumbent Conservative  Jay Hill  is up against Lindsay Gidney of Chetwynd for the Liberals,  Bettey Bekkering for the NDP and Hilary Crowley for the Green Party.

hope who ever wins starts acting as our representative rather than the party that they represent. Hope they remember that they are supposed to be our voice not a parrot of their leaders.
Straying from the party line and having differing thoughts than the leader does, does not a wise political career move make. Follow the leader or yer down the road. Any political party has a low tolerance fer boat rockers and rebels.
MP for us out here does not really mean Member of Parliament. It really means Messenger of Parliament. Get my drift?
I do go on. The Prime Ministers Office runs this country. Policies are made there to be carried out by yes men. (and women too) Gotta be fair to the babes, ya know
Is there really any point of voting with these two bit candidates?

Does anyone really believe that Hill or Harris won't win yet another pointless election?
I wish that there were no parties..maybe the local candidate is ok but the party head is a $#^%$#* ...
I was going to make a comment but what's the use in a pointless election and as long as everybody is deliriously happy with the dynamic duo?
Helped spearhead the U-Pass? Shouldn't have mentioned that in the bio, just lost my vote.
Drew is "..passionate about environmental, economic and transportation issues.."

Wow.
If there were a real chance of beating Dick Harris, they probably wouldn't run a student with no experience other than the university Senate. This is probably a way to give him some experience without putting a seat at risk.
I wouldn't vote for a U-pass supporter. Part-time students with their own vehicle should not be forced to subsidize other students transportation on the assumption that a student unable to provide their own transportation is in theory more hard done by than a student that walks or drives their own vehicle. Social engineering at that level is a big red flag for me....

I voted last time around for Bev Collins as a protest vote at the time because I could not give my vote anymore to Dick Harris who hadn't earned it... and I liked Bev's position on NAFTA, Canadian regulatory sovereignty, and how that related to BC's forest industry. So my vote went to her for standing against the establishment and giving awareness to those important issues... now that she is probably the alternative to the incumbent this time around (with a mainstream party)... she just might be in the right place at the right time to send the old 'Reform' candidate a message... time will tell.
