Talk of the Prince George Golf and Curling Club moving to a new site, is a little premature.
That’s the word from insiders who tell Opinion250, that while there is an offer to buy the existing Golf Club, members haven’t made any moves to purchase a new piece of property because they haven’t yet voted on selling the existing site.
Devastated by the mountain pine beetle, the club is wrestling with the costs involved in clearing and repairing the existing golf course, compared to building a new site.
Alberta based Pomeroy Group has offered to buy the existing site for a total of $15 million dollars.
According to insiders, the Golf and Curling Club has not made any offer to purchase a large piece of property along Foothills. That, say insiders, cannot be done until the Club actually makes a decision on whether or not it will sell the existing site, and that vote won’t happen until the end of this month.
