Mackenzie, B.C. - Two well-known Mackenzie residents were honoured today—the Province's Minister of Agriculture and Lands has decided to name two previously unnamed BC lakes, 'Tom' and 'Eunice' Lakes.

Mackenzie Mayor Stephanie Killam, along with PG North Liberal MLA Pat Bell, commemorated the lakes today. “Through their continued, vital involvement and service, Tom and Eunice Michael have left a permanent mark on our community.

Eunice Michael was a long time entrepreneur and Citizen of the year in 2007—she passed away last November. Tom Michael was a former WWII veteran Spitfire pilot, an active fundraiser, a former municipal councillor and Deputy Mayor.

The lakes are approximately 4 kilometers southwest of Mackenzie—a place popular for fishing and outdoor recreation.
