Homicide in Terrace

Terrace, B.C. - The North District Major Crime section is investigating a homicide that occurred in 4600 block of Hougland Street in Terrace last night. Constable Craig Douglass says Terrace RCMP were called at about 11:15 Saturday evening.

“Police have arrested a youth whose name cannot be released due to the Criminal Justice Act,” says Douglass. He says this wasn't a random act of violence. “The male suspect and the victim were known to each other.”

A woman was found by police with multiple stab wounds. Douglass says the woman did not survive her injuries. “The BC Ambulance Service transported the female to hospital where efforts to revive her were not successful.”

The BC Coroner's service as well as RCMP are continuing to investigate.
