Prince George, B.C.- ColdSnap  will  be getting  financial support from the City of Prince George again.

Last year, the City  contributed $10 000 cash and $5000 as inkind venue support.  This year, organizers wanted $10 thousand again,  but  only about $500 inkind through the  use of the Prince George Playhouse for one night. ouncil unanimously supported the request.

The organizers have also applied for a Canadian Heritage "Building Communities" grant but a decision on that grant couldn`t be made until the City made a decision on the amount of its support.

Venues which hosted events during last year's "ColdSnap" have committed to being available again this year. This year,  the  festival will be bigger, adding one more day (making it a 9 day event) with 43 seperate music events,  up from 30 last year.

The innaugural  year for  ColdSnap  was deemed a great success and organizers  think it can grow into a major  mid  winter tourism driving event.

I recommend everyone get tickets to see Martyn Joseph...a Welsh singer/songwriter. I saw him at Coldsnap last year and he's phenomenal.
