Single Detached Starts Down

Prince George, B.C. The latest housing start stats for Prince George show a significant drop in the number of single  detached  homes started in  September ( down  58.3%) . 

While the number of single detached homes started in the first 9 months of the year is also down compared to 2007 ( which was considered a banner year), the number of multiple starts  so far this year is still in the plus column with a 50% increase.

Overall, the Prince George area ends up with a  39.1% decrease in starts from January to September  when compared to the same period  in 2007.

Kinda glad I don't own a subdivision with only one and a half houses. Good luck to the guy who does.
It looks like the real estate bubble is about to burst like it did in the US.
Just at a seminar on this topic- no one could define what is meant by the bubble bursting- 40% drop/ or more- most of BC will probadly is a modest drop of 15-20% while other areas may drop more. Also if you go to the US some areas are doing well and others the bubble has burst but to apply a general statement to all states and cities about the real estate is completely incorrect.
