Why is the NDP displaying such an interest in local city politics here? Is there a hidden agenda?
please tell me the tax payers are not footing the bill for this NDP nonsense
Homelessness is not an NDP issue.

In fact, it should be the hard-nosed, number crunching conservatives that should be the most interested in addressing homelessness.
My old uncle used to say.... Politicians are like Farts, neither one should be trusted.
It's just that NDP are the ones that are the most willing to crawl on the backs of desperate people to get a vote.

The NDP also minimize the efforts of anyone else involved and their contribution, just to make the homeless feel more sorry for themselves and embarrass any good effort into doing less or leaving rather than be critized for everything. It's easy to be a winner when you are a sideline quarterback like the NDP.
There is no hidden agenda for the NDP in municipal politics. They have been active in that area for 40 years, as have the Socreds and the Liberals and all the other parties that come and go.

The homeless issue has been addressed for several years by the NDP. Their previous critic in that area was Doug Routley who, you may remember, saved the life of a homeless person on the grounds of the Legislature some time ago, hardly a sideline action. Routley has gone on and on and on about the plight of the homeless in our very rich province, before and since.

At least the NDP is concerned about the issue, Yama, and don't kick the homeless in the nuts while their down, as others do.
Homeless people are still people. Read about one of them at:

Oh Yama. I think there is no hope for you.
These candidates will promise ya the moon. Except most areas of the moon are under the jurisdiction of the province and the feds. There is not much these candidates can do but let you know their positions on the issues. They have NO power. Being the eight people on the bottom of the ladder when it comes to that all elusive power. Did I say eight? Well numero uno at the top of that ladder in this town will get an automatic speed dial to the travel agent of his/her choice. Listen carefully. If they appear to have an IQ and they are not incumbents, then vote for them. I am.
Today's headline in the Citizen. Crack Pipes handed out. So, how long before we are also providing the crack?

This is as much of a social issue as the homeless. Where is it that you all want us to go? I will be listening with interest who is supportive of this type of solution to one of our problems. Sooner or later, these drug dependant will also be lined up with the homeless. ???
Only 16 of the 22 are bothering to show up tonight?

Well, then, I guess I won't bother to consider the other 6 as contenders then!
It is an all candidates forum! ALL candidates should be there.

I figure if you can't attend the forum you have voluntarily removed yourself from the ballot.
