On Wednesday Hockey Canada released the Team Canada West roster for the third World Junior A Challenge and for the third year a member of the Prince George Spruce Kings had his name called out. Kevin Genoe is one of twenty five players from the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) selected to represent Team Canada West at this prestigious week-long Junior A hockey tournament. Team Canada West is the two-time defending Gold Medal Champions and will be playing in Pool A against teams from Belarus and Russia.

"It's a great honour and privilege to play for Team Canada West," said a composed Kevin Genoe. "I know a few guys that have gone through it, but this is a whole new experience for myself. I want to represent the Spruce Kings, my hometown and my Country and I just want to compete and hopefully get that gold medal again."
