Veteran’s who have "veteran plates" on their vehicles, may get a parking break from City Hall.

Prince George City Council is to make a decision tonight on allowing free parking for vehicles bearing such plates…but the recommendation is only for the balance of this year and only for the time limits on a parking meter.

The City will also consider a request to allow free parking in the downtown for the month of December for all residents as a means of increasing traffic in the downtown area during the peak retail season.

If the veterans parking is approved, it would mean they would have two more weeks of free parking than the rest of the population.
