Dawson Creek: RCMP investigators from INSET and various other specialized units continue to pour over the evidence and intelligence gathered during the investigation. Earlier reports of a pickup truck seen near the scene of the second blast site have been analyzed and compared with all known facts surrounding the incident. As such, the sighting of this truck has now been eliminated as part of the investigation and investigators are no longer looking for assistance from the public to find it. Explosives Disposal Unit members along with the National Post Blast Team are still at the site of the second explosion conducting their exhaustive examination of the debris field. Numerous exhibits have been seized that will be analyzed and processed by highly qualified forensic investigators. Numerous media reports have surfaced the name of Wiebo Ludwig in relation to similar events that took place in Alberta in the late 1990's. In addition, these reports state that Mr. Ludwig has been recently spoken to by police. Investigators are literally leaving no stone unturned during the course of this exhaustive investigation and have been speaking with anyone who may have strong views in relation to gas and oil expansion or who may be a source of information that would prove useful to the investigation. As such, consistent with what Mr. Ludwig has told media reporters, he has been spoken to by investigators, but he is not a suspect in this investigation. Investigators are continuing to follow up on leads that have been provided by the public. Some of these tips have proved to be very helpful and investigators would like to thank the public and the media for their help with solving this crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dawson Creek Detachment at 250- 784-3700. If you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
