Gas Leak Causes Scare In Down Town Prince George

Prince George -   The Prince George Fire Department says the rupture of a gas line in the down town area near the intersection of Victoria and sixth was repaired early Tuesday evening without incident.

The fire department were called to the scene at 4.14p.m. Tuesday to deal with a gas leak reported at St Michaels Church.

Police cordoned off the area while Terasen gas was able to repair the line without incident. The area around the break was evacuated as a precaution.

No one was injured.

well....what caused the leak in the first place? was it someone digging and hit the line? or was it the pipe rusting out? should we be afraid of this happening elsewhere? come on teresen...let us know these things!
Methinks they shoulda let it leak for a few days and pay someone to light a match. Presto!! More downtown revitalization.
