peter - clearly that is because driving drunk is not nearly as dangerous as MADD would have you believe!

I still can't believe the amount of drivers I see in PG driving and talking. Sometimes I feel like laying on my horn just to disrupt their conversation.

Some remarks try to be funny, but the one above misses the mark by a mile or more.
(From someone whose best friend was killed by a drunk driver).

Texting really makes me angry. If it is my child that they kill, there will be hell to pay.

Cell phone use during driving should be illegal. Talking on one is bad enough but you see these people all the time looking down at their phones and probably driving with their "knee". Its just awful. Another thing that should be illegal is people who drive with dogs on their laps. You cannot be completely concentrated on the road and other drivers while your dog stands on the steering wheel.

Just last week while waiting on a red light a woman blew through the same light to my right without having any idea what she had just done....and she was deeply engrossed in her cell phone conversation. She was doing a good 30kph. It was only by the grace of God that someone was not in the same place, same time going with the green light.
This is just yet another indication that we humans are: stupid (for not passing common sense laws); selfish (for thinking we can do what we want constantly); dense (for thinking it's only others that can't handle driving and talking at the same time), etc. In other words... this is simply a microcosm for human existance in general, a species on the road to hell and taking down an entire planet with us.
By the way, my story above is the 2nd time I've witnessed with my own eyes a cell phone addict blowing through a red light.

If you are incapable of driving and talking your license should be revoked.

Driving and talking at the same time is not the same thing as driving and talking on a cell phone.
Just a couple of days ago a woman using a cell phone blew through the intersection at 22nd about 2 seconds after the light had changed to green for me! Since I was NOT busy on a cell phone but 100% dedicated to the task of driving I successfully slammed on the brakes and averted being t-boned by her!
Kevin, don't lump all human beings together as being stupid, selfish, dense and etc.
There are some human beings who are not stupid, not selfish and not dense. You are probably one of them and I myself am reasonably smart, unselfish and open minded.
I may be overly opinionated at times but if a person does not stand for something he/she doesn't stand for anything. I managed to express this last thought without stumbling, something which even the President of the USA couldn't get right - isn't that worth something?
Smile! :)-

Some of you drivers out there need to be smacked upside the head.
