A.G. To Talk About Community Court Model Today

Prince George, B.C.- The “Healthier You” expo continues at the Prince George, Civic Centre today and will welcome Attorney General Wally Oppal as the key luncheon speaker.
Oppal will also meet with various groups including the Head of the Downtown Business Improvement  Association.   President Shari Green says she will speak with Oppal about the community court model that is in a pilot project phase in Vancouver.
The Community Court  has people linking with a variety of agencies rather than being sent to jail . Green is optimistic  Prince George will be the next location for such a project.
Oppal is expected to focus his luncheon remarks on the community court project.
Also on the schedule for today  Olympian rower, Silken Laumann. She will make an address this morning at 9:15; There are more than 60 booths, and there are workshops and info sessions on fitness, cancer prevention, medical awareness for seniors, and understanding youth relationship violence.
The expo continues through tomorrow.

So why will this project be any different than seeming endless other projects of a similar nature that do NOT work?
The success rates of these types of cop-outs are not good for the most part.
Or are they just to save the government time and money and clear up the court back log?
Wally Oppal is not part of the solution,he is part of the problem!
Does Amsterdam have a similar court system for their drug abusers? BC seems to be searching for the lowest and skuzziest examples to follow.
Do we bring stones or tomatoes.
