Prince George, B.C.- , Mayor Colin Kinsley says he has decided he will not recall Council to take another look at the Dangerous Goods Route.

The Prince George Mayor had been contemplating a recall  because he had  concerns about dangerous goods travelling through the heart of the city along 20th and Victoria.  Those roads are part of  highway 16 and as Provincial highways,  dangerous goods cannot be banned from accessing them.  Kinsley  was considering  the recall to see if his Council colleagues would  reject the  route.

Mayor Kinsley  says he  hasn't been getting any calls from  truckers or others expressing concern about the  route, so he will let it  go.

He preferred using   Ferry and Queensway, two  routes which  truckers already  use.

I honestly think thats a mistake not relooking at that...... Queensway is soooo much the way it should all be going.
Why all the fuss. Kelowna has a six lane highway right through the commercial section of the city. Also added a four lane bridge to spped up the traffic . Have you ever herd of a serious accident on those six lanes?.

Its time council started looking at its spending rather then airy fairy ideas about a dangerous goods route or a ring road.

Cheers
If they are going to go with Victoria Street and they were determined to have a crossing for the Hart the bridge should have gone there.
