So its all over but the crying. This is about as good as it gets. Unfortunately we didnt dump Basserman. He has been on council much to long.

The big question now is will all the budget go to fix the down town that the pass council has negelected. There is now a lot of representation on council from that area.

Notice that the new Mayor for Vancouver is giving the homlessness a lot of attention. Maybe we will be able to slip into Vancouver and see how they plan to fix the problem instead of Portland.

Now lets hear from the experts . I have had my say.

Cheers
Basserman got 1186 less votes this time than in 2005. He placed 6th out of 8. There was a definate message there for him. Hopefully he got it.
Bridge says " The big question now is will all the budget go to fix the down town that the pass council has negelected. There is now a lot of representation on council from that area"

Dan was suggesting neighbourhood meetings when the budget was being discussed. If Council agrees then all areas of the City would be involved in the budget process. Of course, that depends on Council being in agreement, and all four are invested downtown, so let's hope they care about the whole City!
I was pleased Basserman got in. He does his "homework", is reasonable , thoughtful and hard working. I also believe that a blend of new and experienced people is good.
