Prince George -   The Mayor of Houston BC who MP Dick Harris once said is the go to person in the area to get results has lost her job as Mayor of Houston. She was defeated by Bill Holmberg by a count of 516 to 363.

In Ft St James in a very close race Sandra Harwood defeated Rob MacDougall 265 to 259

In Kitimat, Joanne Monaghan is the new Mayor; she defeated Linda Campbell 1443 to 1093

In Terrace David Pernarowski defeated Jack Talstra 1237 to 1076; Murray Hamer was in third place in that race for Mayor with 384 votes.

Prince Rupert’s jack Mussallem has been elected Mayor of Prince Rupert; he defeated Don Scott by a 1838 to 1646 count.

In Smithers Cress Farrow is the new Mayor polling 685 votes to Cathryn Bucher 400 and Bill Goodacre 199

In Tumbler Ridge Larry White beat Mike Caisley by a count of 474 to 370 to take the mayors chair.

A little trivia:

All of these communities mentionned her have new mayors! 72 BC municipalities have new mayors, 70 others are incumbents. Of the 70, 25 won by acclaimation and 7 of the 72 were also acclaimed.

Too bad about the mayor in Houston...I hear she "bared" her sole for her constituents!

Ok,on the serious side,I believe she ran for the Conservatives in the federal election which may have led her supporters to think that she was not all that interested in being mayor anymore?
Had she won,she would have resigned anyway.
