Prince George, B.C. – There is still no decision on who will be the fourth Commissioner for Bear Lake. Following the election on the weekend, there was a tie for the fourth position, both Herb Franklin and Bev Jones had received 41 votes.
The Regional District of Fraser- Fort George is now preparing an application for a judicial recount. That should be filed by the end of this week.
Chief Elections Officer, Tom Yates, says should the judicial recount fail to resolve the deadlock, the only other way to break the deadlock may be to “draw a name from a hat.”’
Yates says the entire process is expected to be wrapped up within two weeks.
The Regional District will swear in its Board of Directors on December 18th.
