Prince George, B.C.- The snowstorm that ripped through the Prince George region last Friday  gave drivers a reprieve when it came to  the annual Counterattack road blocks. Prince George RCMP put the start of their road blocks on hold while they dealt with the numerous traffic issues related to the storm.
Drivers in Quesnel were not so lucky.
Four  checkstops were set up in four locations in Quesnel. The work resulted in:
6 Impaired charges ( one of which saw a driver try to run the check stop only to crash into the Quesnel River Bridge)
12 – 24 hour roadside suspensions
2 -drug seizures
47 -violation tickets for various infractions
1 -vehicle impounded
1 -vehicle, no insurance
37 -warnings.
Officers say the Counterattack program will be operating in Prince George this week.

Maybe when people are unemployed they just don't care anymore?
So the Quesnel detachment has real men that do not cower to weather conditions I guess.
Whereas the PG detachment only have road checks and speed traps when it is pleasant.

I know exactly when to stop speeding, on the next sunny day, because I know there will be numerous speed traps setup up on the top of the hart, by the Mohawk on the hart, third/fifth avenue out of the S-turn, at the bottom of Peden hill coming into town and on twentieth by "da hood", maybe even in the 50kmh zone on foothils.
maybe they decided it was unsafe to be on the shoulder when snow removal is happening..
There would be the visibility factor too! Not good for officer safety on the side of the road during a snowstorm.
Hey now you guys, you keep that kind of talk up and you're going to ruin all of the constant cop-bashing that goes on around here.
