The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to announce that goaltender Alex Wright has been recalled by the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The call‐up became necessary when the Chiefs number one goaltender, Dustin Tokarski was selected to Team Canada’s December Selection Camp Roster for the 2009 IIHF World Junior Hockey Tournament.
Alex Wright will join the Spokane Chiefs on Tuesday December 9th and will rejoin the Spruce Kings for their Island road trip beginning on December 18th. Wright may end up being called back by the Chiefs following the Christmas break depending on the final selections for Team Canada.
“The Spruce Kings wish Alex Wright good luck in his latest recall,” said Spruce Kings general manager and head coach, Ed Dempsey. “We are happy to maintain strong relationships with hockey teams that lay along the path that our hockey players are pursuing; whether it be NHL, NCAA, WHL, CIS or other hockey destinations.”
