Opinion250 Around The World

You often wonder who the commentators are on Opinion250. There is a tendency to think that those postings comments on this site are from around the area.

The Internet has laid to rest borders and while you may think that you are engaged in a discussion with someone around the corner from you, you may in fact be talking to someone half way around the world.

It is very difficult for this writer to get his head around this fact. So today I take the liberty of printing off the top 250 cities that read stories from Opinion250 in the past thirty days.

It is interesting to note that there were 1683 cities in all that had read a story or several stories in the past month. It’s neat to see where this traffic came from but a bit long to re print.

When you scan down the list you find that there are many places in the southern US and Mexico that show up.

A couple of years ago while I was in Mexico I went to an internet cafe, of which there are many, to see what was going on, back in Prince George. The place was full of users and as I stood back waiting for my turn I noticed that on two of the screens there was that green stripe across the top. Sure enough it was people reading Opinion250 to get weather and news from back home.

We at Opinion250 had always wondered why we were getting traffic from the southern USA and Mexico and that brought it home to us. So here is the list of the first 250 cities and towns that have read us over the past 30 days. About 63% of our traffic comes from Prince George, you can see that a lot of other centers contribute to the rest.

You may be suspect of the spelling, that is the way that Google provided it to us. Oh by the way, for you that are reading us from some far off land today , Thank you.

Hmmmm... interesting... creative editing makes a 250 city list into 197 cities. :-)

Just had to check how many of these places have my footprints on them.... 155 ... not too bad... and met a lot of really nice people along the way.

We're just screwing around off topic Gus, I think Rabbit was just counting the places on the list he's been to ever. That was my take. Although a drive to Van will cover about 2 dozen of these places.

I note the Cities in the left hand column are numerical in descending order. What does that mean?

Also, no number for Prince George??????

I copied what Google gave us, they are the ones that refer to the names as cities, take up that argument with them.
You will note that areas overlap. I am told this comes about from the phone exchange and you can get two cities or towns on the same page. Again ask Google.
They provided us with sliding numbers PG has the most, but the site wouldn�t take all the info so we had to settle for just the names of the towns and cities to fit the pages, so it wouldn�t kick back. PG is first and then so on and so on, remember this is just the past 30 days and it changes each month.
I will try next week to print the next 250 if you are interested, from 250 to 500

I didn�t have any trouble understanding the information Meisner. I also understand why Google wouldn�t find it necessary to say town or city. I also understand that PG and numbers are filed in order of reading.
The problem is that many of the people who post on this site would be hard pressed reading Dr Seuss
