Park and Win Set for Today

Prince George, B.C.- Don’t be surprised to find a “ticket” under your wiper blade if you park at WalMart today.

The “ticket” is actually an information packet and an entry form for a special draw courtesy Community Policing, The Two Rivers Crime Prevention Society , WalMart and ICBC.

The information is all about how to secure your vehicle, simple things like:

· using a steering wheel locking device,

· removing spare change,

· ensuring parcels and packages are not in view and

· that the doors are locked

The “Park and Win” tickets are a win- win situation says Community Policing’s Linda Parker “We get to share some information with the public, and they get to put their name in for a draw for one of two $250 dollar gift cards just before Christmas.”

Parker says a similar program was carried out last Christmas “We put more than 5,000 Park and Win tickets on vehicles in the Pine Centre Mall parking lot. This year we thought we would change locations. It’s a fun and positive way to share the information.”

The Park and Win tickets will be handed out today, and again on Saturday December 20^th from 11:00 till 2:00 in the WalMart parking lot.

Gee people, could it be that Wal-Mart has a large parking lot..and the message on vehicle security can be delivered to a lot of people in a very short period of time, with a minimal amount of volunteers..
But then that wouldn't be knocking the program would it...
And no I am not associated with them, but I think if it gets the message out, and one person protects their vehicle and its contents, then great..
