Two Dead In Head On Crash Near Moose Lake On Highway 16

Valemount BC- Two people are dead and three others are in hospital following a two car crash on highway 16 east, at the crest of the ridge , near Moose Lake.

A car with two BC residents in it collided head on with a Minivan going east on the highway shortly after 12pm. local time.  

The two BC residents were pronounced dead at the scene while two of the three people riding in the Van were taken to hospital in Jasper in serious condition.

The accident forced the closure of highway 16 in both directions for over six hours. Jasper residents say the traffic was backed up ten kilometres at one point as people were heading for home from the holidays.
