Well that's a tough one! Obviously Vanouver area had a hell of a time looking after the snowfall last week, even Canada Post could not handle "Rain, snow, sleet nor hail" they all went home on the 24th around noon.

Looks to me if there is no snow during the Olympics, us taxpayers will be paying and if there is a lot of snow, us taxpayers will be paying. All for Campbells legacy.

I'll bet most Campbell supporters in the 604 area are kicking their own asses supporting the "carbon tax" while Campbell is back in his Hawiian condo soaking up the sun and most likely the booze, saying "I'm sure glad I gave myself a raise recently so I can pay the heat bill this year".

Bye bye Campbell.
I for one hope that it snows a butt full and they cannot keep up. The whole thing was a disaster from the beginning and we would not feel sorry for them at all. Campbell I hope will have a disaster on his hands and it will look really good on him. I pity the poor folk in Vancouver that will have to suffer with the situation. BUT IT SURE WOULD LOOK REALLY GOOD ON THE I.O.C. and CAMPBELL. All for the snow and having to get around on canoes good GOOD FOR THEM.
It snowed.
Yawn.
Campbell, Campbell Campbell ....
So?
What if Beijing's air was not breathable by the athletes?

What if the Munich Olympics had Terrorists?

What if the Salt Lake City had no snow?

So many what ifs. Life is made up of what ifs.

We'll find out what the "what ifs" will be for Vancouver/Whistler when the 2010 Olympics happen.

Compared to an earthquake, a 20 or 30 centimetre snow fall will be child's play.
If it snows during the Olympics like it has down on the lower rain land this winter. You will see all the Provinces sand/plow trucks getting shipped out of our northern cities and beyond to take care of business.
Maybe by then Air Canada will have figured out how to fly planes in the snow, seeing as how they canceled most flights and yet Westjet had a fraction of the problems.
Well, that won't make much difference in PG since PG only has graders and front end loaders.
lifesucks:" Campbell I hope will have a disaster on his hands and it will look really good on him... IT SURE WOULD LOOK REALLY GOOD ON THE I.O.C. and CAMPBELL."

No, it wouldn't. So much for the benefits of positive thinking and a positive attitude! Just in time for New Years, too!

For some people life sucks. Wonder why they put up with it if it is so horribly negative.
I fear that Campbell and his yes people will sink a whole lot more money into the Olympic fiasco before it is over...I have no fear that the transit system will all of a sudden get a cash inflow to ensure it operates for the Olympics.
I wonder how much more will go into the Sea to Sky, two slides after it is supposed to be completed....and it is supposed to be the main route to Whistler...
yes...
we are sure to see a lot more money dumped into this mess...no doubt....
and with the majority government he has Campbell will too....who is going to stop him????
The 2010 Canada Winter Olympics are NOT a fiasco!

According to (for instance) European news media all the main venues are already completed on budget and on time - virtually a first in Olympic Games history.

The rest of the world is evaluating the developments and progress of the 2010 Canada Winter Olympics with a positive verdict and some admiration!

Here, however, for political reasons, it seems to be nothing but utter negativity and condemnation, with some people - go figure!

All the whining and bleating is not going to make the slightest difference: Canada is hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics - all the political naysayers notwithstanding!

Cheers!
What if it snows, landslides or maybe the Big One, don't have the money or Tickets to go anyway. so why worry!

You really believe everything you read, especially when it involves Govt's and money?
Fool.

Are they indeed?
Perhaps if that is true it would be because they are not the ones that are having their lower income citizens losing their homes etc, etc, etc.

For political reasons? Please elaborate.

The negativity around it all involves the fact that we the taxpayers are having to pay for it all against our will and at the loss of our basic needs as a society.

And yes we are hosting the Olympics and there is nothing anybody can do about it, even if the majority are opposed.

Thats Canandian democracy hard at work.

Yes, lostfaith, you are right: I believe everything I read, including your b.s.

"For political reasons? Please elaborate."

You know what I am talking about.

"The negativity around it all involves the fact that we the taxpayers are having to pay for it all against our will and at the loss of our basic needs as a society."

I rather pay my share of these Canadian Winter Olympics than waste 20 Billion dollars (twenty thousand million) on the bottomless folly called Afghanistan.

Please explain what "Canandian democracy" is.

Well apparantly you believe what you have read as you have posted your beliefs here bonehead.
Oh ya, Canadian Democracy = Parliamentary Dictatorship = Welcome to Canada.
Maybe we can get a carbon tax refund if "global warming-climate change" doesn't kick in during 2010. Are we gonna pay this tax AFTER global warming has hit us? Hope not.
OK , so i didnt want the olympics, and i still wish we were not having them. BUT, i doubt the veracity of the statementthat the majority of BC'ers dont want it. I would have to see a few polls before i made such a statement. Also, now that we are going through with it, as a BC citizen i hope they are a big success. What good does it do to wish bad things on your own province?
Only a bonehead spells *Canadian Democracy* like you did: "Canandian democracy"! You don't even know how to spell! Don't feel too superior, withoutfaith.

LOL!
Caranmacil:"Also, now that we are going through with it, as a BC citizen i hope they are a big success. What good does it do to wish bad things on your own province?"

I fully agree with your post which I just read (!) because who in his/her right mind would do such a thing?

Many times in the past I posted here that I was not in favour of Vancouver bidding for the Winter Olympics as I felt that it was too soon after the province had been through a very bad decade of economic hardship.

But, after Vancouver was awarded the Games one might as well wish it success rather than failure.

It's like wishing Canada's soldiers in Afghanistan a safe return even though one may not agree with the mission itself.

Cheers!

Give away commemorative 2010 snowshovels to everyone who attends.
