Prince George, B.C. -The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be moving forward with a competitive bid process for the construction of a new Beaverly Fire Rescue Hall. This facility will house the Beaverly fire department and the Chilako/Nechako Rescue Service.

Last month, the Board approved a Towns for Tomorrow grant application be submitted to the Ministry of Community Development for the construction of the new hall. The Ministry has requested that submitted projects be able to get under way quickly. If the grant application is successful, the results of the competitive bid will be brought to the Board in April, so construction could begin shortly after.

The estimated cost of the new fire hall facility is $1,000,000. If grant funding is received, $400,000 will come from the Towns for Tomorrow grant program with the balance being funded from the Beaverly Fire Protection and the Chilako/Nechako Rescue Service capital reserve funds.

$1,000,000.00 for a VOLUNTEER fire department? Does it com with a P.A.C.?
This has gone too far, they need a heated space to keep their trucks and gear, and they have that already. I don't get it.
