Quesnel Man Gets 7 Months On Drug Charge

Quesnel, B.C. - A Quesnel man has been sentenced to seven months in jail and 12 months probation after pleading guilty to being in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Patrick William Russell had been arrested in mid November of 2007 after Quesnel RCMP executed a search warrant on his residence on English Avenue In Quesnel. That warrant resulted in police seizing a large quantity of crack cocaine.

2007? Last I looked it is 2009. Why did it take so long or is it a misprint.
The wheels of justice kinda get bogged down in the muck and mire of postponements, delays,adjournments and the need for more investigation. Both counsels getting their acts together. Booking court time. Finding an unbusy judge. Getting witnesses. And on and on. Methinks the courthouse only works on four hour days. Just drop by our courthouse around 2PM or 3 PM weekdays. Forget about weekends. No worry about getting trampled in the rush of traffic inside then.
