Valemount Avalanche Victim from Alberta

Valemount, B.C.- At approximately 1:05 PM, on Friday January 16, , a 33 year old male was riding his snowmobile in the Monashee Mountains south of Valemount when an avalanche was triggered. The male was buried. The six other members of the his group located him using beacons, but could not revive him. Everyone in the group was equipped with avalanche gear.
The victim of this avalanche was a 33 year old male from Edmonton, Alberta. At the request of the family, his name will not be released.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate.
