Prince George, B.C.-  An Air Quality Advisory  remains in effect in Prince George.

Based on the air quality data, the high levels of PM 2.5 are mainly due combustion emissions (smoke). The high pressure ridge which gave calm winds to the region resulting in pollutants accumulating in the air shed is gradually weakening. Particulate levels should slowly decrease, but high hourly levels may be expected within the next 24-hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 28 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site at 9:00 am and 9 µg/m3 at College Heights. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 38 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown and 29 µg/m3 at BCR.

This Air Quality Advisory is expected to be in effect until further notice, with an update to be provided this afternoon at 4:30am.
