Prince George, B.C. – While Prince George City Council prepared to listen to the proposed budget for Community Services,  waste paper baskets lined in plastic were placed throughout  the Council Chamber to collect  the steady drip, drip, drip that was coming from the roof.
The dripping water was coming through in two spots at the media desk and damage to the wood veneer was evident. There were two more specially lined baskets on the east side of the Council Chamber behind the chair of the City Administrator.
Deputy City Clerk ,  Wendy Nordin says the leak has been occurring since last Wednesday.
There has been no indication that any work order has been placed to correct the leak.
In keeping with the drips and splashes, the first budget presented was for aquatic services.

Better get the lowest bidder on the phone. My taxes.....never mind.
I find it hard to believe that this actually made the news........go figure
oh lighten up...... can't you see the sarcasm in this one? LMAO
90 perecnt of the time when this happens it is a plugged roof drain somewhere up there.
Trick is finding it which one it is.
Andy Freeze, it would be the one with all the water on top of the drain.
All sorts of possibilities. Water standing to a level higher than the roofing is taken up the cant strip. Finding the reason why it is not draining is probably the easy part. Finding where it entered is the difficult part at this time of year.

Then again, maybe the building inspector got the roof shovelled the roof when he put out that warning. Probably damaged the roof. LOL

You need to check your work before posting.
OMFG man.
Watch! We will be footing the bill for a new building.
"Leak At City Hall." -For a second i thought the article would be about leaking tax money due to poor management. I was surprised to learn it was a water leak ;)
Better get Mike Holmes.
"leak at city hall" (somebody telling secrets..) Lost, I re-read Gus' post, it makes perfect sense. He must know that the roof on that building is torch on sbs, which will not normally leak unless damaged, so if the water level increases to the point where it is higher than the top of the stripping on the cants, then water can flow under the membrane. From there it will spread until it eventually finds a place to escape. Must be a slow news day, thats good!
