Prince Geore B.C. - The Air Quality Advisory for Prince George has been cancelled.
Dennis Fudge ,the Air Pollution Meteorologist with the Ministry of the Environment says the forecast is for increasing clouds over night, "This should help in keeping particulates from building up overnight. However, there is a slight possibility of a few hours of elevated particulate levels later this evening, but those levels should not be as high as those in previous evenings."
Winds have not increased much in the bowl but they have at higher elevations this afternoon
Based on the air quality data, the high levels were mainly due to combustion emissions (smoke) and some contribution from road dust. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 34 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site at 3:00 pm and 12 µg/m3 at College Heights. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 32 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 29 µg/m3 at BCR and 27 µg/m3 at College Heights.
