Quesnel, B.C. -   The City Council of Quesnel is considering a 0% tax increase for 2009. This after Council was asked by staff for direction regarding any potential tax increase. The initial operating budget submitted estimated a 3.3% tax increase.

Council directed staff to prepare a report indicating where savings in the budget could be found to meet a 0% increase and the impact those savings would have.

That report will be considered at the March 23 budget session. That session will also be the formal public input session for this year’s budget process.

Zero tax increase would be great.

Just wait your taxes are going to go through the roof once they build that useless Multi Center!!
Way to go Quesnel Council. Thank you for seeing the light. Maybe our Bureacrats in our city hall can see the same light and make the decisions to cut back services.
No wonder the taxes aren't gonna be raised. Why? Because the train stops there. Not here!
"formal public input session for this year’s budget process"

Huh???? Do we have that too???
Lets all move to Quesnel
Is this the same as a 0% tax decrease? I wonder which is better for a small town like Quesnel.

I think they would be wise to spend some money to change the name of their town. What a wierd name. That's why I choose not to live there.

Prince George is the place for me, Prince George is the place to be....
Settle down, Arnold.
