Honours for Dr. Galt Wilson

Prince George, B.C.- Dr. Galt Wilson, known in Prince George as, among other things,  the driving force behind the Family Practice Residency program, has been given another award.
 
Dr. Wilson,(shown in photo at right, photo courtesy UNBC) a graduate of the medical program at the University of B.C.,   has been selected as one of two recipient’s of the 2008 Wallace Wilson Leadership Award. The recipient is selected by a peer group of alumni and awarded on behalf of the University of British Columbia Medical Alumni Association to a graduate who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and demonstrated high ethical standards to the profession.
 

Last fall, Dr. Wilson was named the Health Educator of the year at the Northern Health Forum in Prince George,  he has served as Prince George Regional Hospital's Medical Director and Chief of Staff and is founding Director of the Northern Family Practice Residency Program.

He was named Canadian Family Physician of the Year by the College of Family Physicians of Canada in 2000 and was the 1999 recipient of the inaugural Resident Advocate Award of the Professional Association of Residents of BC.

He is a good man. He is good for the north.
Not only a good community booster he is also 1/2 of an excellent family unit. Gerda and he have been successful in also bringing up a number of charming, bright young ladies in our community.
