I think those people should be fired. The public does not support these weapons and this guy insists not only should they be used... but they should be classified along with batons.
Momy wants to classify them as none lethal. Anyone that ignorant of the evidence coming out should not be in a position to be representing our police forces unless we we'd like to live in a police state. I think the police chiefs backing Momy are a threat to our democracy and the rights of everyone last one of us.
Someone needs to tell them they need to find a new line of work. Walmart is hiring greeters.

I'd still rather be shot with a Tazer than a 9mm pistol... or beaten into submission with a baton, for that matter. No, it's not Captain Kirk's phaser set on stun. It doesn't effect everyone the same. But a better weapon doesn't exist yet, so the police should at least have that option.

I wonder if this guy is getting any kickbacks from taser international.

In the Okanagan a hard of hearing senior was dragged out of his car and tasered when he was delivering newspapers and an old sick man was tasered in his hospital bed!
I can't imagine that the use of a 9mm pistol would have been even given a thought here by the police!
The temptation to use tasers as a swift space age solution in situations where formerly patience, negotiation and persuasion were used must be overpowering!
It's all over in seconds, the victim is either immobilized convulsively on the ground or - he is dead.
Same thing happens when the manufacturer tests these things on live pigs - they scream and roll around on the ground and sometimes they may not get up.
I've seen the video.

That's sad diplomat. Poor pigs. Such a crazy world we live in.
A security guard friend of mine had to break up a fight at a bar down south and when throwing the guys outside the cops arrived. They tasered the security guard by mistake thinking he was the one fighting and causing trouble. He's okay thankfully but goes to show the cops are forgetting how to assess a situation. The word "communication" just doesn't register with some of these guys.
He has lots of stories.

He needs to have some direct experience on the receiving end of a tazer just like all the trainees have to endure.

at least weekly if not daily til he decides they are not such a good thing

What ever happened to the tough cop that just tackled you. Even when you did have a weapon. New rules, not tough not RCMP! Get with a program or your gonna loose it. And we'll all loose faith and you don't want that with a big party coming and all. Get rid of tasers, lobby for more prisons, tougher laws, 3 strikes your out! 10 years! Guns, drugs, extortion, drive by's your now being punished under Terrorist Law! Simple build more jails, job creation in tough times, just think of spin the spin-off.
