The line up for tickets curled around the Via Building on 1st avenue

Four moms went to extremes to ensure their children would have the chance to ride the rails with Santa Claus next month...

Kristen McBurnie, Krista Merritt, Amber Friess, and Anna Turnquist brought their fold-up chairs and sleeping bags down to the Via Rail Station at 3:55am this morning to make sure they would be the first in line to buy tickets for the Salvation Army's annual, and ever-popular "Santa Train".

McBurnie (on the far left) has a three-year-old and 20-month old and stayed up all night to ensure she would have the first crack at the allotted six tickets each when the doors opened at 9am this morning.  She says she arrived just before 5am last year and was about 10th in line.

The train ride will be a first for Amber Friess (second from right) and her two children, aged 5 and two-and-a-half, and she admits her friends dragged her out of the house early this morning to line up.

The "Santa Train" is always a sell-out.  Tickets for the Sally Ann's yearly fundraiser are just six-dollars and for that little passengers and their adults get a ride out to Shelly to pick up Santa for the trip back to the station.
