Prince George, B.C.- Quesnel Mayor Mary Sjostrom is one of three  municipal  representatives  named to the  B.C. Trabsit Board of Directors.

Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Kevin Falcon made the announcement today.  Sjostrom will be joined by Mission Mayor James Atebe, and  District of Saanich  Councillor Susan Brice.

"These individuals have already made many positive contributions to their communities and to British Columbia," said Falcon. "And they'll continue to do so as we expand and improve transit for people throughout

Ah, Mayor Mary...

Was she named to this board because she's "cute"? Or was this contest not a "beauty" contest?

Apparently there are girls in Quesnel that are "cuties".

I think the editor of this story is a female. See the difference between this story and the one about the "beauty" pageant. No mention about what this female (the Mayor) looked like.

I'm glad opinion250 has raised the bar again. That other story about the "cuties" placed it on a barstool, next to the spitoon.

Keep up the good work.
Iagree with beesknees. The "cuties" angle is demeaning. I thought we were past basing the "miss this or that" contests on being cute. Obviously, not in Quesnel.
Hopefully, Quesnel will be first on the list to get improved transit, what we have now is a awful.
What bus system doesn"t start until 8:00 am and is off the road by 6:00 pm. Hardly a bus system for working people. Its nothing more than a shopping tour bus.
