Well that might seem like a good news story, given the rise in wages, fuel, gas taxes, electricity increases, etc. this will result in a significant burden on the school district to be able to operate. 2010 is the last year they will have dollars from a carryover fund to be able to fund the shortage of dollars from the Ministry. We should have been closing another school or two these past few years buy had that fund to top up the shortfall in dollars from the Ministry.
Does anybody know how much the carbon tax levy against the school district is?
Another bloated bureaucracy!
When I see a School District 57 maintenance truck, with the engine running and two occupants inside at 9 am outside the far reaches of a school building doing NOTHING, then I question whether the School District is actually getting value for wage dollar. It is time for some incision work.
$8700 per student should not need much econmizing
The expected decline in enrollment for September 2009 is 388 children.

Has anyone ever connected; the decline of enrollment to the number of abortions in Prince George per year?

Assuming 500 abortions per year; in 25 years enrollement will be reduced by 12,500
children.

The choice is yours Prince George. I would prefer to see schools opening and enrollment increasing.

Has anyone considered how many students are lost from the public system each year to religious brain-washing schools where children are told about the evils of this world such as *gasp* abortion, homosexuality, and stem cell research.

The choice is yours Prince George. I would prefer free thought and life free of forced and manufactured guilt.

Agitpop, get a life. I worked for the SD for 11 years and the guys in maintenance are the least of worries for that organization.
