Gaming Revenue Grant Money Handed Out In PG

Prince George - The B.C. government is awarding over $140,000 in gaming

grant revenue to three Prince George non-profit groups to help upgrade or renovate their facilities.

St. Francis of Assissi Conference of St. Vincent de Paul will receive over $23,000 to do window upgrades in order to reduce heating costs at its drop-in centre.

 

The Cerebral Palsy Association of Prince George and District will receive $100,000 to renovate the child development centre and upgrade of access. Beaverly Community Association will receive $21,000 to resurface its community skating rink.

Congratulations to these fine organizations.
Ahhhh; Good old gaming revenue. The Casino's and Bingo in this area bring in approx $40 Million in gross revenue, every year.

There must be one hell of a lot of people in this area that have lost their life savings, plus,plus,plus, since this Casino started.
It's about time. I am not impressed with the terrible odds that are offered in the casinos in B.C. I do not go to our local casino unless I'm willing to part with my offering.

I am continually amazed that any government would even consider being involved in something so destructive to peoples lives!
I'm surprised that any well meaning organization would accept money from such a contemptible and destructive source. Shame on them....
