Prince George, B.C.- The Board of the Regional District of Fraser Fort George will be asked to approve the 2009 budget for the region when it meets this afternoon.
The budget, if approved as is, will see Prince George residents paying at least 4.39% more than had been paid last year for the Regional District portion of the bill.    This is to be added to the 3.48% increase on the municipal tax bill.

omg! It just keeps getting worse for people living in Prince George. Paying big city taxes for a mill town which has the poorest air quality in all of BC. Mill workers losing jobs left right and center, not to mention contractors in forestry and construction. Provincial and Federal tax cuts yet PG continues to rape its people. They just do not get it and I have given up hoping that they will EVER get the fact that the world is in a financial crisis.
Only thing that keeps rising every year TAXES, I sure wish I could get a cost of living increase once a year to cover the ever rising taxes. Taxes for what? Every roads in and around Pr Geo are in the poorest condition I can remember in my 39 years here, sorry I mean 35 as I recently spent four years in Kamlooops where roads are drivable all year around. But I'm back and not very impressed with what I have seen here with how our tax dollars have been spent the past year. Fix the damn roads, they are a disgrace and an embarassment!
