BC-STV Up for Debate Tonight

Prince George, B.C.- Tonight you will have an opportunity to hear both sides of the Single Transferable Vote issue in B.C.
For one hour tonight, UNBC’s political science students will present a debate on the issue which will go to referendum May 12th.
The session will start with a ten minute explanation of the current “first past the post” system and B.C.- STV. Each side will have 15 minutes to state their arguments.
The YES side will be represented b y Bruce Hallsor, former president of Fair Voting B.C.. The NO side will be represented by Bruce Strachan a former Prince George MLA.
The final 20 minutes will be devoted to taking questions from the audience.
The debate is set for 7 tonight in room 7-238 at UNBC.
