McBride, B.C.- The bodies of two missing snowmobilers have been located on Mt Renshaw near McBride, and the recovery team is in the process of bringing the bodies off the mountain.
RCMP Sergeant Pat McTiernan says the Search teams had two beacon signals when they arrived on the scene earlier today.
The families of the two men have prepared a statement for release by the RCMP to the media, however have asked that they not be contacted for interview.
The statement is as follows:
“The families of Shane Scheidieman and Kory Wagner of Keep Hills, Alberta, involved in Tuesday's tragic avalanche, on Renshaw Mtn. in McBride, B.C., have gathered in that community to support fellow snowmobiler, cousin, and long time friend Jeff Wagner, who displayed amazing efforts in attempting to retrieve his friends.
The family is waiting for the location and the retrieval of their loved ones and would appreciate privacy at this difficult time.
The family appreciates the efforts of the local RCMP, Search & Rescue, community services and local businesses”
