Restructure and Curtailments Announced

Prince George, B.C. – The clock is ticking once again for AbitibiBowater.
The company’s Wednesday night deadline to restructure its debt has been extended, for the fourth time. 
Now, the new deadline is 2 p.m. today, Pacific Daylight Time.
 
Meantime, Tolko has announced some curtailments, with  a one week curtailment at the company’s veneer plan in Lumby , the  Armstrong plywood plant and the veneer plant in Kelowna.
The one week curtailment will start on Monday and will impact more than 300 employees. It  will reduce inventory by about 5 million feet.
In a news release, the company’s Regional Manager Jim Baskerville, thanked all employees for working so hard to help the company “We regret the impact this will have on our employees and we acknowledge the significant contribution they have made to improving productivity and reducing costs.”
